Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Chitose. These terms constitute a legal agreement between you and Chitose Pte. Ltd. (UEN: XXXXXXXX) regarding your use of our platform and services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Chitose platform (chitose.sg), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use Chitose. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and current. Accounts registered by bots or automated methods are not permitted.
3. Buyer Terms
All purchases on Chitose are final once the 7-day return window has elapsed, except where an authenticity dispute is raised. Buyers are responsible for reviewing all product descriptions, condition notes, and authentication status prior to purchase. Chitose guarantees the authenticity of every item sold on the platform; in the event an item is found to be inauthentic, a full refund will be issued regardless of time elapsed.
4. Seller Terms
By listing an item with Chitose, you represent that you are the rightful owner of the item (or authorised to sell it), that the item is authentic, and that all information provided is accurate. Chitose charges a commission of 15–20% on the sale price, deducted from seller proceeds. Chitose reserves the right to reject any item that does not meet our authentication standards. Sellers may not list counterfeit goods under any circumstances; doing so may result in account termination and legal action.
5. Authentication & Condition
Chitose performs authentication as a service to buyers and sellers. While we take every precaution and maintain an independent verification standard, authentication is an expert opinion and not an infallible guarantee. Our Authenticity Guarantee entitles buyers to a full refund if an item is subsequently proven inauthentic by a recognised independent authority. Condition grades (Brand New, Like New, Lightly Used, Well Used) are assigned by our team and represent our honest assessment; minor discrepancies in perception do not constitute grounds for return.
6. Pricing & AI Pricing Tool
Listed prices on Chitose are determined by sellers, with guidance from our proprietary AI pricing tool. The AI pricing tool analyses global resale market data and provides recommendations; it does not constitute financial advice. Chitose does not guarantee any particular resale outcome. Prices are displayed in Singapore Dollars (SGD) unless otherwise stated.
7. Payments
All payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments. Chitose does not store full payment card details. By placing an order, you authorise the charge to your selected payment method. In cases of payment failure, your order will not be confirmed. Installment plans are subject to credit approval and the terms of the relevant financing partner.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: (a) list or attempt to sell counterfeit, stolen, or misrepresented items; (b) manipulate pricing or feedback systems; (c) harass, threaten, or defraud other users; (d) scrape, copy, or reproduce platform content without permission; (e) use the platform for any unlawful purpose. Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension and referral to law enforcement authorities.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on the Chitose platform — including the Chitose name, logo, design system, photography, and written content — is the intellectual property of Chitose Pte. Ltd. and is protected under Singapore and international copyright law. You may not reproduce or distribute platform content without express written permission.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chitose shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant transaction. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our negligence.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Chitose shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the Singapore Mediation Centre, and if mediation fails, to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
